The Offender Policies module (1COR221 / ACOR221) is a second-year, 16-credit course within the Bachelor of Arts in Correctional Studies program at the University of Zululand. The module looks at laws, policies and practical issues related to incarcerated offenders, such as the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, the White Paper on Corrections, and the Correctional Services Act, amongst others. Contemporary incarcerated offender and corrections’ challenges are highlighted and discussed, with the aim of instilling best-practices.
