Welcome to Research Methods 1 (ASGY 241). This module entails the introductory aspects of social scientific research. However, the module also covers the basics of the quantitative social research paradigm. This is the first in the Sociology department’s undergraduate sequence in social research methods. The goal of this module is therefore to equip students with skills in the practice of social research, with specific reference to the quantitative design strategies. As the first in the Sociology research series, this course is, therefore, a pre-requisite for the subsequent Research Modules.
