Human Behavior and the Social Environment (HBSE) is also referred to as Human behaviour in the social environment. HBSE seeks an understanding of human behavior in relation to all of the contributors to and the characteristics of such behaviour and the characteristics different levels and systems of this environment; and the interactions and relationships between them.


This module in the 2nd year social work curriculum identifies and highlights individuals within social contexts and the reciprocity between individuals and their social contexts at various levels, using theories to explore their human development across the life span.
