Provide knowledge to students on how the local sphere of government operates and how it is governed. The focus on local sphere of government is significant since it the sphere closest to the people amongst the three spheres namely local, provincial and national government.
Enables students to understand the processes that are involved in governing municipalities in South Africa and legislations that are applicable and governing the local sphere of government.
Municipal governance module is offered at third year level. It is a prerequisite to the Municipal Structures and Administration (CPLG 201) offered at second year level.
