The course prepares undergraduate students in basic principles of Ecophysiology and Ecotoxicology. Part one which is Ecophysiology examines the major physiological adaptations exhibited by animals to their environment, thereby gaining a better understanding of the physiological constraints that affect their distribution and abundance, as well as their evolution.

Ecotoxicology is the study of the effects of toxic chemicals on biological organisms, especially at the population, community, ecosystem, and biosphere levels. Ecotoxicology is a multidisciplinary field, which integrates toxicology, ecology, ecophysiology etc.
