Welcome to Guidance and Counselling module. Guidance and Counselling is a professional course. This module will assist you in understanding the role of various members of a guidance and counselling system in supporting students in addressing their future and social challenges. You will master the basic skills of school guidance and counselling by practicing these skills during lecture sessions. The module will increase your ability to exercise active listening skills, reflect on learners’ concerns, assist learners in arriving at solutions to problems, advise them on potential solutions to stated problems, and make responsible social choices and informed decisions.

This module should provide students a sound knowledge and understanding of barriers to learning and development. The  module serves to explain the principles of inclusive pedagogy as well as a number of practical, inclusive, pedagogical approaches for you to use in your classrooms.
